The Word

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Author, C.J.  Mahaney tells us in his book "The Cross Centered Life"

"First importance.  The Bible tells us that, while there are many different callings and many different areas of  service in the kingdom of God, one transcendent truth should define our lives. One simple truth should motivate our work and impact each part of who we are.

Christ died for our sins.

If there is anything in this life that we should be passionate about, it should be the gospel.  And I do not mean only about sharing it with others.  We should be passionate in thinking about the gospel, meditating on it, being delighted in it, permitting it to transform the way we look at the world.  Only one thing should be of first importance to each one of us.  And only the gospel should be.”

John 4:8 For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.

9 Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, "How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?" For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.

10 Jesus answered and said to her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, 'Give Me a drink,' you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water."

  • Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins which is eternal death and separation from God and man.
  • Jesus Christ has risen from dead to prove himself to be the Son of God and that to all those who believe in Him have hope that they to will rise and live with Him forever.
  • Jesus Christ ascended to heaven and prays for all of humanity that we would repent and believe on Him and love Him the way He loves us.
  • Jesus Christ promised and will return, at the end of time, for all of us who believe and trust Him.

We do not come from the goo! We did not just slime our way into exsistence!

We were created to live in harmony, peace and in love with one and other, and with our loving heavenly Father. That’s the hope, the destiny, the truth for all who believe.

BLESSINGS AND PROVISION0518061015

His Harvest has been abundantly blessed by the donation of a 1999 charcoal gray Suburban to the ministry.  This vehicle is in great shape and will allow us to accommodate our groups much more efficiently and comfortably.  It will also aid us in the transportation of Mexicans, especially during our Friday night teachings.

Jeff located the car on the internet.  We made a whirlwind 18-day car trip to the States, April 22 – May 10, to pick it up in Arlington, Texas.  The carpets were badly stained and after having them professionally cleaned Jeff painted (!) them and they look like they are brand new!  We caravanned to LaPorte, Indiana in 3 days with Jeff driving the Trooper and Terri driving the Suburban.   While in Indiana we ate lots of pie and dropped off the Trooper, which we sold in less than 5 days!  Onward to Madison, Wisconsin to show our donors the vehicle we had purchased.  While there we had a reunion with the Mexico team that came in March.  It was good to see everyone on their “home turf” and meet the parents of many of the youth who had come.  The trip was potentially exhausting, and we thank all of you who prayed that the abundant grace of God would be with us ~ it was!  It was my (Terri’s) first time driving for three days in a row, 7 – 8 hours a day, and the time just flew by thanks to some praise and worship CD’s and an awesome sound system in the Suburban.

After resting for 2 days in Texas we drove straight back to Cordoba in record time – 13 hours and 20 minutes!  We experienced 111 degree temperatures and saw men doing manual road work in that heat.  We are so thankful for air conditioning!  The Trooper did not have it.  We have much to be thankful for and praise God for His abundant provision and blessing upon our lives and His ministry in Mexico!

FRIDAY NIGHT TEACHINGS015

We have begun teaching Basic Doctrine in yet another location, this time in Coscomatepec, a small village near the mountains, about 45 minutes from our home.  On Friday evening at 6:00 pm we pick up the congregation in Dos Caminos and transport them to “Cosco”, its mission church.  We had one class before going to the States and the church was packed with new believers who are hungry for the Word of God.  Dilean took oodles of children to the house next door to have children’s ministry during the teaching.   We are doing something a little different this time: as Jeff teaches I (Terri) illustrate the teaching on a dry erase board.  In small villages there are many illiterate people who can not take notes but who can copy a drawing that will reinforce and help them remember the lesson.

 CHURCH CONSTRUCTION UPDATE005

Progress marches on in the church construction in Campo Grande and San Rafael Caleria.  In SR Caleria the church members got together and poured the septic tank and finished painting the outside of the building.  In Campo Grande we are getting ready to install the lower portion of the beamed roof and all the windows.  Entrance doors are currently being constructed.  Both churches now have a roof covering the upper rooms with a door.  Electrical work is almost completed on both churches.  We look forward to the day when both churches are completed.  Incompletion, however, does not stop the congregations from currently meeting in both churches.
