The mexican brothers are advancing the work at Sumidero. They have finished the tile on the dormitory room and all the plastering in the womens bathrooms.

The Word

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Author, C.J.  Mahaney tells us in his book "The Cross Centered Life"

"First importance.  The Bible tells us that, while there are many different callings and many different areas of  service in the kingdom of God, one transcendent truth should define our lives. One simple truth should motivate our work and impact each part of who we are.

Christ died for our sins.

If there is anything in this life that we should be passionate about, it should be the gospel.  And I do not mean only about sharing it with others.  We should be passionate in thinking about the gospel, meditating on it, being delighted in it, permitting it to transform the way we look at the world.  Only one thing should be of first importance to each one of us.  And only the gospel should be.”

John 4:8 For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.

9 Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, "How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?" For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.

10 Jesus answered and said to her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, 'Give Me a drink,' you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water."

  • Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins which is eternal death and separation from God and man.
  • Jesus Christ has risen from dead to prove himself to be the Son of God and that to all those who believe in Him have hope that they to will rise and live with Him forever.
  • Jesus Christ ascended to heaven and prays for all of humanity that we would repent and believe on Him and love Him the way He loves us.
  • Jesus Christ promised and will return, at the end of time, for all of us who believe and trust Him.

We do not come from the goo! We did not just slime our way into exsistence!

We were created to live in harmony, peace and in love with one and other, and with our loving heavenly Father. That’s the hope, the destiny, the truth for all who believe.

IT IS (ALMOST) FINISHEDcampo-grande

It’s been a long haul but the end is now in sight on the two church construction projects.  Campo Grande is in the lead, which is appropriate; since it was the first church we started building.  The roof has been completed, the floor has been poured, the electrical work is almost finished, and the handrail is in place.  The front door and most of the windows have been installed.  They have sufficient tile to wrap up the bathrooms.  Meetings are now being held in a completely dry building, which is a good thing since it is now rainy season.  This season will last through the end of October.

Coming in a close second is the church in San Rafael Caleria.  It was slow for a while until the men finally stepped up and began to work with Jeff.  The lower roof was completed July 7, giving everyone a building that was completely covered and rain-free.  The hunt is on for brown cable to finish the electrical work (which will match the brown beamed interior roof).  Windows have been bought but not installed.  They are still lacking a handrail, front door and bathroom tile and fixtures.

Pray that these churches would reach their communities for Christ and be filled to overflowing with Christians who have a hunger for Christ.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN

I have a cartoon that says, Ïn one year a family can handle a lot of chaos – but why does it all seem to happen at once?”  We’re sure many of you feel that way.  With all the church construction, teaching, our annual conference, and Dilean’s graduation from high school our lives have been pretty busy.  Suddenly, our annual trip back to the States was upon us!  This year we will be driving back since we have to travel with our “little” dog, Sherlock.  He takes up the entire back seat of the Suburban and needs his own duffle bag!  We have added a little more time this year so things will not be so rushed – and we are hoping to get lots of good Silver Queen corn with tons of butter when we get back.  Our trip will cover over 6000 miles so please pray for traveling safety and the good working order of our vehicle.  Also for our relationship as being confined to a car for 9 hours with a not-so-small dog is NOT our idea of a vacation!

In His grip.
